About "Wee Painted Men"

Welcome to Wee Painted Men - a little corner of the internet where I can share some of my adventures in miniatures collecting, painting, modelling and gaming.

Most of what you'll find here is about Napoleonic wargaming, which has become my favourite period for gaming. The largest part of my collection are 20mm metal miniatures from Newline Designs, which I started collecting back in 2016, and which I'm still collecting and painting today.

A lot of the blog posts will be me sharing photos of recently painted figures, with some battle reports thrown in here and there.

Hope you enjoy.

Cheers,

Kevin

  1. Kevin, I got to this site having watched your YouTube vids and absolutely love the way you paint your miniatures. It's so bright and engaging. I'm about to get back into wargaming after a 20 year absence (trying to move my kids from blowing things up with controllers to blowing things up with dice) and you have inspired me, my friend. Many thanks and keep up the good work. If you could do some YouTube vids on how you do it I may come up there and marry you, in fact (my wife would understand . . . she'd probably pay the fare, to be honest . . .). Mark M

  2. Hi Mark, thanks for your kind words. Believe it or not, I only just noticed your comment today, so sorry for the (extremely) late reply. I haven't checked this page of the blog for a while, and I've only recently decided to blow the dust off the whole thing and start blogging again. Delighted to hear you've enjoyed the few vids and posts I've made. It's spurs me on to do more when I hear that others are inspired, just as I myself have been so inspired by the many great contributors out there.

I hope you're enjoying your wargaming adventures again after the long hiatus. It seems to be the pattern for many of us. My gap last for about 12 or 13 years, so it still feels like I have a lot of catching up to do. I could happily paint and wargame all day every day, but alas things like having a full-time job gets in the way! Still, I suppose I need some way of paying for all the lead...

I'm fairly sure I'll be keeping the blog going from now on, and adding occasional videos to the YouTube channel, so I hope you enjoy. Thanks again, and all the best.

    Kevin
